aboutus

We both grew up with a desire to serve God overseas where the opportunity to know the truth isn’t readily available. We yearned to do more than just pursue a career. We wanted to be part of something greater - participants, in some way, in God's plan of redemption for the world. We longed to live out our short lives in a way that would bring delight to our Maker for all of eternity. We pursued this passion individually until in our late 20’s, God brought our lives together.

Rhonda had been working as a midwife in southern Togo for several years. It was her dream come true - what she loved doing most. She was meeting the needs of mothers and babies who came to the hospital, while leading the team of Togolese nurses who staffed the OB ward. The lovely Togolese family she lived with became some of her best friends. Then, she moved to northern Togo to pioneer the OB ward in the new hospital that was about to open.

Kyle spent a year in Benin (bordering Togo to the east) before beginning college. While there, he saw first-hand the needs in West Africa and realized that the most qualified people to meet those needs are empowered West Africans themselves. His college years were shaped by friendships with Muslims and studying Arabic for a semester, so when he met Rhonda and moved to Mango he was excited to find a town of 90% Muslims, some of whom even spoke Arabic.

Now that we are married, our vision is the same. We love the people of northern Togo, and we want to understand them better so we can help them know God’s grace and truth and empower them to share that with their communities. Ultimately, we want our Togolese friends to be restored to a right relationship with their Maker for all of eternity.
